Afriski Mountain Resort Lesotho is located in the Maluti Mountains, a 90-minute drive from the Caledonspoort Border Post. Lesotho's only ski resort features a variety of outdoor activities during the winter and summer.

- The Caledonspoort border is open from 6am – 10pm, seven days a week.
- The Ficksburg border post is open 24 hours, but will add an additional 2 hours to your journey.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
- Check-in time is between 16h00 - 21h00
- Check out time is by 10h00
- Requests for early arrival or late check out must be made directly with the Hotel
- Every effort will be made to accommodate the request however the Hotel reserves the right to levy an additional charge to accommodate different check-in /out times.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The member has the right to cancel a booking but the following penalties will apply:
- Between 47 and 31 days prior to the arrival date, the member will be charged 30% of the portion of the cancelled booking value should the booking be cancelled;
- Between 30 and 14 days prior to the arrival date, the member will be charged 100% of the portion of the cancelled booking value should the booking be cancelled;
- No shows will be charged for in full.
- Afriski cannot be held responsible for any non-arrivals or late arrivals due to circumstances, foreseen or unforeseen, including but not limited to traffic, weather, breakdowns, strikes, illegal actions of non-Afriski staff or third party suppliers.
PREPAYMENT:
- A total of 100% is required 30 days before arrival of booking
- 100% prepayment for all 1 night stay

Children of all ages are welcome.

Name Change Policy: Name changes are subject to a R500 name change fee.

- Vehicle ownership papers / vehicle registration papers [not your log book]
- A certified colour copy of these vehicle ownership papers
- A certified colour copy of your passport (page with information on it) – the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date to South Africa
- A certified colour copy of your ID book or card
- A certified colour copy of your driver’s licence
In addition, if you are not the owner of the car, you need written permission from the registered owner allowing you to be in possession of the vehicle and authorising cross-border travel. This affidavit is needed as well as all of the above documentation. Contact details for the owner must be included in the written permission as border officials will contact the owner while you are at the border. Please ensure that the vehicle’s owner will be available for a call on your day of travel.
- The Government of Lesotho has recently improved its visa application system for those from non-visa exempt countries.
- The new online e-visa system ensures tourists from non visa exempt countries can obtain visas within 72 hours of application. Please ensure that you apply for your visa at least four days prior to your trip to Afriski.
- Single entry $150
- Multiple entry $250
- South African citizens, as well as citizens of visa exempt countries, do not require a visa to enter the Kingdom of Lesotho.
2. TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN
- Please note that South African laws governing cross-border travel with minors have been updated. Our laws now require an unabridged birth certificate and supporting documents to be presented at any borders when travelling with minors under the age of 18 years. - Please double check that you have packed in accordance with our guest guidelines.
- While basic necessities can be purchased at Reception, please note that there is no supermarket in the area.
- It is suggested that you keep your shopping receipts in case they are asked for by border officials. Alcohol will be confiscated.
- Please note that receipts in excess of R1500 per person will need to be declared.
4. GENERAL
- Checking out of your accommodation is by 10:00, but once your car is packed there’s no rush to leave. However, if you want to be down the mountain before sundown we suggest you start making a move by 16:30 after the slopes close.
- Although the local currency is the Maloti, South African Rands are widely accepted as are MasterCard, American Express, Visa, and Diners Club cards.
- Ski passes are charged R50 per person
- Day visitors are required to pay a R50 entry fee at the gate in the winter season
5. SAFETY
- Afriski is not liable for any injury to guests or damage to, or theft of, belongings in or around the Resort or in the surrounds of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
- An on-site medic is on call at the Resort during the winter season, and available for medical assistance for any injuries or illness acquired at the Resort, for the guest’s own cost.
- Please ensure you use guides and instructors, follow their advice and cautions, and follow the slope or activity rules when you’re out and about.
- Please contact us should you be interested in purchasing TRAVEL INSURANCE.
- Please check in with Afriski for updates on the roads whenever we have given a weather warning. We do not recommend driving into Afriski when the weather and roads are bad, and will send communications around this.

Do I need the whole amount available in my wallet
You do not need to have the whole amount available in your travel wallet. Any outstanding amount may be settled by EFT
Can I pay cash upfront?
Yes, you can pay cash upfront. Even if you have the full, or partial amount in your travel wallet, if you choose to you may pay for your trip entirely with case, sent to us by EFT
Can I get a refund if I can't make my trip?
Yes, a full or partial refund may be applicable to you if you are no longer able to make your trip. An important note: Whether you can be refunded, and how much you can be refunded, depends on the terms and conditions of the travel package and accommodation where you have booked.
Does the total include flights and visas?
No. Flights and other travel items are arranges separately from your travel package and will therefore be at an additional cost, unless otherwise stated in the package you have chosen.
